Town Lights

ACEO ~ acrylic. I like to call this one TOWN LIGHTS ~ looking out into the distance you can see some of the lights from the small town in the hills with a radio tower just to the left.

Pirate Ship

Pirate Wind

The autumn wind's a pirate,
Blustering in from sea;
With a rollicking song, he sweeps along,
Swaggering boist'rously.

His skin is weather-beaten;
He wears a yellow sash,
With a handkerchief red about his head.
And a bristling black mustache.

He laughs as he storms the country,
A loud laugh and a bold;
And the trees all quake and shiver and shake,
As he robs them of their gold.

The autumn wind's a pirate,
Pillaging just for fun;
He'll snatch your hat as quick as that,
And laugh to see you run!

Wood Mountain Elevator

Wood Mountain is a Village located in south central Saskatchewan a few kilometers from where the original North West Mounted Police post was originally located. For several years in the 1870's , the N.W.M.P. monitored Sitting Bull and thousands of Sioux who feld to this area after the battle of Little Big Horn.

There is only one grain elevator left in Wood Mountain, and it is not in operation. This elevator was built by the Saskatchewan Pool in 1928. Its one of Saskatchewan's oldest wooden elevators standing today.

Christmas Window

With winter not too far around the corner.. also brings CHRISTMAS!!!!! Here I imagined some house on a quiet street on Christmas Eve. Looking through the window I can imagine how it might smell like Christmas baking or an oven roasted turkey.. or even picture someone sitting out of windows view sitting in a rocking chair relaxing and enjoying a cup of eggnog reading the paper or just staring at the beautiful lights on the Christmas tree. Oh I love Christmas!!!!

Winter Church

Well it won't be much longer until we have snow here in Saskatchewan.. I know it only September but we sometimes have our first snowfall as early as mid October to early November so its not too far around the corner. With that in mind I decided to paint a winter scene.. Here I imagined a church somewhere up north nestled in the trees hidden away from the hustle and bustle of perhaps some small town or city near by.
