"OM"

"OM" (or "Aum") for Hindus & Buddhists, a mystic word or mantra. OM is regarded as the syllable of the supreme Reality and is sometimes called "the Mother of Mantra"

The lotus flower is one of the most ancient and deepest symbols of our planet.
The lotus flower grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with remarkable beauty. At night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn it rises and opens again. Untouched by the impurity, lotus symbolizes the purity of heart and mind. The lotus flower represents long life, health, honor and good luck.

This painting is a 6x8 mixed media painting on canvas. I used Acrylic & prisma colour pencils to capture the beauty of the lotus flower.

This painting is a gift for my yoga & fitness teacher Sairah :)

Blue Fairy

Blue Fairy ~ Prismacolor Colored Pencil ~ ACEO
I have always loved fairies and not sure why I haven't attempted to paint one but here is my first attempt at Fairy art in colored pencil.

Red Eyed Frog

Red Eyed Frog ~ My first ACEO with my new Prismacolor Coloured Pencils. ~

I really enjoyed using coloured pencils and this was the first time I have ever tried them!

I usually use Acrylic or oils as my medium.. but I might just stick to coloured pencils for awhile.

Its easy to use with the kids around and I don't have to worry about paint drying up or paintbrushes drying before i get a chance to clean if I'm running around tending to kids and housework :)

DREAMS?

After travelling to the Mayan Riviera I felt inspired to paint Palm Trees as I saw sooooo many..LOL.. I loved it there! The ocean was so beautiful and the weather was warm specially compared to where I live here in Saskatchewan.. We just had a huge blizzard.. oh how I wish I was back in MEXICO!!!!

This is a 5x7 acrylic painting. I like to call it DREAMS? It is my impression of a pirate or sailer in search of land.. "Is that land ahead? or am I dreaming?" The pirate is so desperate to seek land he sees a mirage in the distance of a Palm tree.
